  I was a child, an innocent child of about 8 years old when my family made the mistake of walking through those doors in the Colonial neighborhood, Triedstone Church of God in Christ with Pastor White as the pastor at the time. Day 1, for some reason, my parents joined and I believed what they told us from the pulpit about God, His love and God in 3 persons. I gave my heart to Him. Meanwhile, the other children and some adults at this church made my life a living hell! They rejected me, bullied me, talked about me and my family and sabotaged us at every turn. It wasn't until I had finally had enough and came back into the church after being out, rather trying to be out with the other kids in the back yard....I was crying. My mother asked what was wrong and I told her 'I didn't want to go to this church any more'. For aesthetics, these demon seeds fell back a little - more tolerating us than accepting or embracing us but I witnessed as the years pass by these same church kids do the same systematically to new people as they came into the church, like Rhonda Neighbors....this other girl I can't remember her name but her skin was as black as night and her mother was one that this church would never stop talking about. Where was the love of God?? Where were YOU God?? My only solace was I only had to see these demons on Sundays, Wednesdays and maybe one other day through the week...then, the city redid the borders and these demons all transferred into my school and, one-by-one, they turned my existing friendship bases against me by using the sheer numbers that they had transferring in to make me into a pariah at my only safe place. This church was the beginning of my self hatred. I could not escape them no matter where I went there was always someone who knew someone connected to TriedStone...just like that, they turned my environment toxic. It has taken me decades to get out the toxins that a place that was supposed to be about love put into me...I have had thoughts of returning and repaying to these people what they are due and it is only my strong sense of morality that has spared their lives. So, my review is this: if you are not part of the founding families of this church avoid it at all costs - particularly if you have kids. The pain this place instilled into me from childhood has scared and derailed my entire life - causing me to be stuck in fear of rejection when it was time to jump and change my legacy.
